AMBIGUOUS DRONES, SCATTERED BEATS AND PARTICULAR FRAGMENTS.
the structures are sorted by algorithms and bidirectional information. disharmonic and rustling layers cause unrest and discomfort. phase-shifting fluctuations, feedback effect loops and repititive rhythms reinforce the contradictory effect. chunked vocal fragments are used as an equal musical element. experiments that often become cinematic.
a modular and predominantly analogue synthesizer is used for the production, without midi signals and without a classic sequencer. midi is only used for synchronisation for collaborations. the polyphonic sounds are mainly created by algorithms and percussions are sorted by logic functions. the focus is on unusual and multi-layered modulation techniques. the musical realisation is oriented towards serial music.
the signals are then routed through a complex effects matrix and an analogue mixer. the sound can be divided across 6 feedback loops and condensed with the help of 18 effects so that the stereo image develops organically. algorithms that simulate an old tape echo machine, an oilcan delay or a drum echo are used for this purpose. these effects can have a deliberately unclean, dissonant and inconsistent effect and thus reinforce the desired effect. the loop-based loops make this technique reminiscent of musique concréte.
a conscious balancing act between serial music and loss of control is provoked in order to explore the boundaries at a concert.
